Songing is a group of receptive (sensing, feeling) and creative (doing) activities that enable participants to enjoy an authentic life. Discover how to better relax, manage anxiety and stress, gain confidence, build resilience, process difficult or uncomfortable emotions and work to the best of your abilities.

Create

In the creative activities, we work together to either create or produce the song. This may include composition or engaging in song experimentation and it's usually tailored to the needs of the individual or the wider group or family, workplace or community.

Receive

In the receptive activities, there are song feeling experiences, such as using song to facilitate and affirm a person's or group’s relaxation, belonging or identity. Individuals or groups may then share experiences gained from working together drawn out by the songing activities.

What does Songing involve?

Songing addresses stress, feeling overwhelmed, stuck and unable to relax, and helps you express creativity, connect and communicate in a positive, healthy way that affirms self and creates positive relationships to self and others.

Songing integrates music, meditation and mindfulness, so that people can become the song in the singer and the singer of their own song. Whether that be in voice, playing guitar, baking a cake or fixing your car. This friendly fun and strengths-based approach, helps people to reconnect to self and others by getting practised at returning to the breath anytime and anywhere, to follow the breath, relax the body and calm the mind.

With time, guidance and practice, you will be better able to apply the skills to create the inner space to develop an appetite for peace that will then enable you to explore your own creativity, continue to develop your own well-being and ability to contribute to a happier, healthier whole, whether at home, work or play.

What does a typical program look like?

We work together to set your personal learning goals and co-design a unique songing program, short or extended, of 1, 3 or 7 sessions, that can provide you with some knowledge and tools to achieve them. We can start with an introductory session of 1 to 2 hours, and then customise the program to suit your time frame and needs. The length and time of each follow-up session depends on each individual ranging a 10 minute top-up a day when working on a new skill, or 30 – 60 minute sessions per week for the duration of each customised program.

What tools do you provide?

The act of songing is partly for fun, but mostly to learn to relax. This is not so much for performance or enjoyment, but the value added when songing comes from one's true self. Becoming more relatable to others enables you to connect authentically and form genuine, trusting, safe and lasting relationships. The toolkit comprises Music, Meditation and Mindfulness.

How much does it cost?

An initial 15 minute call (Whatsapp if outside Australia) is completely free-of-charge. If you then want to progress to a program, an initial video or phone session is $120 & programs start at $399. [Note that US$ should be offered internationally since the value of AUD is unknown]

1:1 Coaching

How do we meet?

Meeting options include Zoom, Teams, Facetime & Messenger. 95% of my 1:1 coaching is delivered online by video, chat and phone. All you need is a phone-line and a reliable internet connection and we're all set. Often people start with a 1 or 2 hours introduction to start them off and then follow-up with 30 minute or 1 hour sessions to consolidate new learning and short top-ups as time as goes on as they face each new challenge and work out how to integrate this new information or awareness into their daily lives.
